MARELLA, Frank R. We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved father Frank Marella of Abington, formerly of Quincy. Frank passed peacefully on December 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. Frank was the husband of the late Antoinette Marella (Olivo) of 62 years along with his six children. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Michael and Rose Marella of Wollaston. Frank grew up and lived in the family homestead in the Wollaston section of Quincy for 58 years before moving to Abington with his wife to be closer to his children.

Frank served in the Army National Guard for 8 years in Braintree and was employed by Raytheon as a Product Designer before moving onto Codex Motorola where he retired as a Principal Engineer. His second career began in 1998 when he established Century 21 Marella Realty in Braintree with his wife and several of his children. His son Michael currently owns and operates the business of 34 years. Frank was enthusiastic about boating, fishing, attending Red Sox games, and watching the New England Patriots. Frank and Antoinette enjoyed their annual trips to Sanibel Island Florida where Antoinette would collect shells for her arts and crafts she created. In the Summer months, they spent time at their home in Chatham, on Cape Cod.

Frank leaves behind his 6 children Michael and his wife Antoinette of Braintree, Edward and his wife Fernanda of Hanson, Laurie Williams and her husband Dave of Abington, Sandra and her partner Dan of Quincy, Christine Gustafson and her husband John of Bourne, Maureen Devlin and her husband Scott of Abington, along with thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Hospice of Norwell for their constant care and attentive treatment. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, December 6th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7th, at 11:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
