Yola was a graduate of Braintree High School. She worked at Sigma Instruments, as well as held various catering jobs throughout her life. She loved meeting new people while out on one of her many jobs. Yola was an avid bowler in her day and was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, pizzelles, and her “Nana cookies.”
Beloved wife of the late John Bonner. Loving mother to Joseph and his wife Maureen of Hingham, Edward and his wife Cindy of Gilbert Arizona, and the late Dorothy Ann Bonner. Dear grandmother to Kellie and her husband Maurice Bedoni, TJ and his wife Trisha Bonner, Karen Bonner, Kim Bonner, and Amanda Bonner and great grandmother to Riley, Alex, Gavin, Jack, Max, Ellie, and Hadley.
Named for the Queen of Italy, Yola was the youngest of 15 children born to Antonio and Elvira Avitabile. Yola was preceded in death by her siblings, Clorinda Salmeri, John Avitabile, Louis Avitabile, Victor Avitabile, Albert Avitabile, Anthony Avitabile, Ann (Messina) Bova, Margaret Tantillo, Alice Catto, Joseph Avitabile, Alexander Avitablile, Adeline Naclerio, Clement Avitabile, and Pat Avitabile.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours will be held at the Cartwright Funeral Home at 845 Washington St., Braintree on December 9, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree.
