RINGIUS, David (Dave) Millard, of Braintree, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70.

Dave was born in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts on November 23, 1952. He is predeceased by his parents, Millard and Dorothy (Procter) Ringius. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Meg) (Bates) Ringius; sons David Jr., and his partner Caitlin Carey; Adam, and his wife Ashley; and daughter Leanne. He was the proud “Papa” to Arianna, Autumn, Adam Jr. (A.J.), Aubree, and Ace. He is survived by family member Kimberly Egan. Dave is also survived by his faithful labradoodle and constant companion, Ali. He was the brother-in-law to Regina and the late Robert Dexter of Nashua, NH; Anna and John Zenus of Brockton; Regis (Bud) and Gabrielle Bates of AZ; Kenneth and Sandra Bates of Hopedale; Dennis Bates of Randolph; Geraldine and Louis Costa of Hull; Mary Bates and her partner Ray Diaz of Worcester; Eileen Bates of Brockton; as well the late Kevin Bates of Randolph. Dave is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Professionally, Dave was an accountant, most recently working for AIG in Boston, MA prior to his retirement in 2020.

Dave was the friendliest man one could meet, who was known for his infectious smile. Always full of jokes and one-liners, random dancing, and a kind-hearted nature, Dave could strike up a conversation with anyone. An amazing family man, Dave loved spending fall Saturday mornings at the various soccer fields coaching, mentoring young referees, and serving on Braintree Youth Soccer’s Board of Directors. Over his years with Braintree Youth Soccer (1980s- 1999 and 2009-Present), he was so proud to have coached his own children, but most especially for having been able to coach all five of his grandchildren. When not on a soccer field, Dave could be found spending his days with his grandchildren and watching them across a host of activities, including dance, basketball, baseball, softball, martial arts, gymnastics, and theater productions. Dave enjoyed ending his nights at home with his wife, daughter, and dog with Hallmark and/or the Food Network playing on television.
