DRISCOLL, Alice M. (Leary) of Braintree passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loving caregivers on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 96. She was the devoted and beloved wife of the late Roland L. Driscoll and is survived by her dear and dedicated children and adored grandchildren; Michael of Nova Scotia, Canada; Mark, his wife Carlene and daughter Courtney of Lincoln, RI; Christine, her husband Jim Hayes of Kingston, MA and their children Nicholas, Linden, Tristan and Heather; Justin, his wife Mary of Abington, MA; Timothy, his wife Eileen of Hingham, MA and their children Nolan and his fiancée Jessica and Andrew; Laura, her husband Mike Dugas of Stow, MA and their daughter Hannah; Amy, her husband Mark Carnicelli of Braintree, MA and their children Madison and Benjamin. Alice was preceded in death by her two cherished sons Greg and Ted. She was the older sister of the late Elinor Leary, Margaret Bergeron and Arthur Leary, Jr. Daughter of the late Arthur and Helen “Nel” (Knight) Leary of West Quincy, MA. She was the wonderful Aunt “Ree”/ Alice to many treasured nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and sister-in-law to many near and dear to her heart. She also leaves behind many close cousins.
Alice had an endless faith in God and was extremely devoted to the Catholic Church. Alice lived a long, faithful, and blessed life celebrating to the fullest each addition to her family. The true matriarch of the family, Alice, with Roland at her side, loved hosting countless holiday gatherings with her children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren at her home. Together with her family, she enjoyed many idyllic summers at Squam Lake.
The Driscoll family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Norwell VNA/Hospice nurses and the Celtic Angels nurses and aides for the extraordinary and compassionate care given to their mother.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, October 16 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home at 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 17 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 856 Washington St., Braintree. Burial immediately following the Mass will be in Blue Hill Cemetery at 700 West St., Braintree. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s name to The Archdiocese of Boston at 66 Brooks Drive Braintree, MA 02184.
