CODY, CODY, Mary C. (Murray), of Braintree, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 91. Born in Boston to the late John and Barbara (Malloy) Murray.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, friend and homemaker. She met her husband Joe while employed as a clerical worker at Boston City Hospital. Together they raised five children in Hyde Park, MA. Mary traveled wherever and whenever she could in the states especially in the New England area. France, England, and Ireland were visited with her daughters. Taking rides and walks with her husband Joe at Castle Island, Nantasket Beach, and the Blue Hills were among her favorite times. Mary was a dear friend and a woman of faith. She volunteered for many years at the Milton Hospital and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Sodality at St. Thomas More Parish. She also enjoyed participating in activities at the Braintree Senior Center and the Irish Pastoral Center. Mary loved being with her family and was happiest when she was with them. She cherished her ten grandchildren and loved following their involvement in education, sporting events, concerts, and Special Olympics. Mary will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Joseph H. Cody. Loving mother of Mary T. Cody of Braintree, Joseph C. Cody and his wife Denise of Braintree, Barbara Daly and her late husband Stephen F. Daly of Foxboro, Kathleen McLaughlin and her husband Steven of Foxboro, Joanne Scaramuzzo and her husband John of Dedham. Cherished grandmother of Joseph Cody and his wife Preslea, Nicholas and Shawn Cody, Catherine and William Daly, Erin and Steven McLaughlin, Jill, Johnny and James Scaramuzzo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 23rd from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at 12:00 PM in St. Francis Church, 854 Washington St., Braintree. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
