PENNY, Jean M. (Strati), of Braintree and Dennis, formerly of Allston, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on May 8, 2022, at the age of 81. Born in Brighton, Jean was raised and educated in Allston. For many years until retirement, Jean worked for the Town of Braintree as the Assistant Town Clerk. She enjoyed playing golf and going to lunches with her golf friends. Jean loved the ocean and spending time at the beach. She loved spending her winters in Siesta Key, Florida and her summers in Dennis, Massachusetts. Jean was a kind, loving woman, who will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Beloved wife of the late Russell N. Penny. Loving mother of David Penny and his wife Judy of Braintree, Susan Cimino and her husband Mark of Braintree and Deb Penny-Shaw and her husband Jim of Braintree. Grandmother of Megan, Mike, Emily, Kate, Alison, Eric, Jake, Zach and Hannah. Dear daughter of the late Anthony Philip and Agnes Dorothy (Connolly) Strati. Devoted sister of Robert Strati and his wife Sandy of Columbus, OH, David Strati and his wife Alba of Allston and the late Doris Hietala and her husband Bill of Carver. Beloved Cape friend of Everitt and Beverly Smith and their family. Jean is also survived by her beloved dog Bandit, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 15th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 16th at 12:00 PM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
