SHINER, Teresa E., of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 28, 2022, at the age of 95. The simplest pleasures in life brought Teresa much happiness. She cheered for The Red Sox, looked forward to Wimbledon, enjoyed BINGO, playing softball with her nieces and nephews, visiting the beach, weekend card games that lasted long past midnight, trips to NY to visit Joy and spending time in Maine with her old friends, Mac and Mal. She loved yellow roses, baby’s breath flowers, Christmas Lights, autumn leaves and The Shiner’s. Teresa never asked for much, she was happy just being with her family. She was most comfortable in her favorite pajamas and robe. At any hour of the day or night Teresa could be found standing at Dotty’s kitchen counter with a cup of tea in one hand and a slice of bread and butter in the other. Did you know that Teresa was a Welder during WW II at the Watertown Arsenal? She sure was, she was one of the Winnie the Welder Gals, pretty Amazing! Teresa was ever so lovingly cared for by her niece Paula Burr of Quincy. Auntie Teresa will be truly missed by her many adoring nieces and nephews. Teresa was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph E. and Teresa (York) Shiner, Jr. Devoted sister of Joseph “Buster” Shiner of Braintree, Joy Nazarian of NY, Jacqueline Bardasz of Brockton, and the late Theodore “Raymond” Shiner, Anna May Shiner, Marilyn Ruma, Dorothy Burr, Evelyn Creedon and Mary Jane Carney. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St., Braintree. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Arrangements under the care of the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, Braintree. To leave a sympathy message for the family, visit
