WALLACE, David J., of Braintree, passed away on April 1, 2022, after a brief illness, at the age of 86. Born on March 15, 1936 to the late Stephen and Emily (Galinis) Wallace. He was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Barbabra A. (Petrocelli) Wallace.

Dave grew up in Brockton and attended Brockton High School. He and Barbara married in 1963 and lived in Dorchester. They eventually settled in Braintree, where they spent many years raising their family and actively contributing to the community.

A member of the choir at Saint Clare Church of Braintree for over 20 years, Dave also helped spearhead the Pop Warner football program in town and served as its president. He served on the board of Pond Meadow Park and was part of a crew that in 1984 completed construction of the park’s paved walking and biking path that is enjoyed by so many Braintree and Weymouth families to this day. Dave worked in plastic sales for most of his career but found his true passion in serving as a counselor to inmates recovering from substance abuse at the Norfolk County Correctional Center.

Dave was the devoted father of Joseph F. Wallace and his wife Ruth Ann of Weymouth, Christopher M. Wallace and his wife Karen of Hanover, David J. Wallace, Jr. and his wife Joan of Weymouth, and Mary E. Ridge and her husband Gerald of Braintree. Loving grandfather to Elizabeth Wallace, Christopher and Kelly Wallace, Meredith Wallace and her fiancé Ryan Murphy, David, Andrea and Abigail Wallace, and Gerald, Olivia and Conor Ridge. Brother to the late Herbert Wallace and wife Catherine (Katy) of Meuthen and his late brother John Wallace and wife Linda of Florida. Also survived by his niece Jennifer Wallace of Florida, daughter of the late Mary Wallace, and his sister-in-law Adrienne Wallace of Revere.
