DALTON, Jean (O’Leary), of Braintree, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 29, 2022, at the age of 84. Born in Everett, Jean was raised and educated in Braintree, graduating Braintree High School, class of 1956. For over 40 years, Jean worked in customer service for Verizon, where she met some wonderful friends. She enjoyed sports and was an avid Red Sox fan. Jean was very social and a wonderful friend to all. The most important thing to her was her family. Jean cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. They were her world and she would do anything for them. Jean was a kind and loving woman who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Arthur L. “Butch” Dalton, Jr., retired Braintree Fire Chief. Loving mother of Joseph Dalton and his wife Donna of Braintree, Kelly Burke of Braintree, Thomas Dalton and his wife Mary of Mansfield, John Dalton and his wife Lora of East Bridgewater and Kimberly Seibert and her husband Dick of Braintree. Dear grandmother of Michael and Emily Dalton, Shannon and Bridget Burke, Patrick and Caroline Dalton, Kasey, Erin, John and his wife Amanda Dalton, Kaitlyn and Colleen Seibert. Dear daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Remy) O’Leary. Sister of Donald O’Leary and his wife Patricia of Pembroke and the late Robert O’Leary and his wife Barbara of Foxborough. Jean is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 5th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 6th at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jean Dalton to the Massachusetts General Hospital to support the Memory Division.
