DALEY, William J., Jr. “Bill”, of Brockton, formerly of Plymouth, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 29, 2022, at the age of 69 after a short, hard fought, battle with cancer. Born in Boston, Bill was raised and educated in Somerville. He was a member of the Boston Painter’s Union DC35, working as a painter for the MBTA for many years. Bill had a passion for trains outside of work and collected scale models. He enjoyed the time he spent tending to his garden and making his yard look pristine. Bill was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Holbrook, where he would spend time painting the church and taking care of the landscaping, among other things. He even made the cross that can be prominently seen on the front facade of the church. Family was everything to Bill; he loved to go fishing with his beautiful grandchildren and travel to Wyoming to see his sister and other family members. One of Bill’s greatest joys was spending time with his dog Traveler and taking him for walks. He was extremely caring, friendly and outgoing; always putting the needs of others before himself. Bill was a kind and selfless man who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Loving father of Heather Oluwole and her husband Eniola of Dedham, Lisa Daley of North Attleborough and Megan Cossette and her husband Eric of Mansfield. Cherished “Grandpa Bill” of his 3 grandchildren Leke, Ronan and Serafina. Devoted brother of Shirley Gunyan and her husband Richard of WY and James Daley of Brockton. Bill is also survived by the loving mother of his children, Maureen Daley, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends as well as his beloved dog Traveler and his 2 grandpups Mac and Ryder. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 5th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (RT. 37), Holbrook. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, at 10:30 AM in the Holbrook United Methodist Church, 60 Plymouth St., Holbrook. Burial will be private. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the Brockton VNA & Hospice, 500 Belmont St., Suite 200, Brockton, MA, 02301 or the Holbrook United Methodist Church, 60 Plymouth St., Holbrook, MA, 02343.
