COSTA, Manuel Barros, 91, of Randolph, MA, aka Poppy/Papa born on July 5, 1930 in Brava, Cabo Verde passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 20, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Alfredo Jose Costa and the late Adelia Barros Costa; Manuel is the beloved husband of Nellie Mascarenhas Costa of Randolph, MA. Loving father of Madalena Manza of Peabody, MA, the late Manuel Alfredo Costa, Angela Maria Costa of Randolph, MA, John Costa of Randolph, MA and Denise Ezekiel and her husband Paul Ezekiel of Holbrook, MA. Dear brother of the late Olivier DaCosta, Elsie Goncalves of Sacramento, CA, the late Victoria Viegas, the late Antonio DaCosta, the late Maria DaGraca, the late Madalena Andrade, Matilde Ribeiro of Portugal and Maria Alice Bala of Providence, R.I. Proud grandfather of Mandy Bresnahan and her husband James Bresnahan of Ayer, MA, Tiffany Marie Enos of Newton, MA, Ashley Costa of Easton, MA, Yasmine Costa of Brockton, MA, Abigail Costa of W. Yarmouth, MA, Hendrick and Erika Costa of Providence, R.I. and Damion Costa and his wife Jasmine of Morrow,GA. Doting great-grandfather of Teaghan and Callan Bresnahan of Ayer, MA and Damion Jr. and Adriana Costa of Morrow, GA. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel emigrated to the United States in 1966 searching for a better life for his family. He settled in Dorchester where he was a Sheet Metal Worker for twenty-five years. He enjoyed bowling, playing poker with his family and entertaining friends in his home. He was an avid fan of the Bruins and Celtics and never missed a World Cup Soccer game. But his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St. Randolph, MA on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 25th at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church, 211 N. Main St., Randolph, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
