DESIR, Prima was born in Aux Cayes, Haiti on July 1, 1928, by her mother Idelia Jeanty and father Francin Fortune and passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022. She was survived by five sisters and one brother. Prima was a devoted wife to her husband, Pierre Desir, and a loving mother to her eight children: Marie Marthe, Madeline, Yves, Marie Carmelle, Frantz, Joceline, Michele and Samuel and a caring stepmother to Alice and Sergo. She was also an amazing grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In January 1957, Prima gave her life to Christ at the L’Eglise Bethel in Pétion-ville Haiti, where she was an active member for many years until she came to America.

Prima and her husband, Pierre Desir, came to the United States in April 1996 to live in Massachusetts with her daughter, Marie Carmelle, also known as Ti Carme, for what will be more than 25 years. During this time, Prima found a church home and became an active member of the New Covenant Church of Cambridge. She also became a US Citizen in 2015.

Prima was not your typical woman. She was a God-fearing woman who had the strength of a bodybuilder, the smile of an angel and the anointing of a saint. She would greet everyone who came across her with a “Hallelujah,” a gentle kiss on your hands or a “Belle petit mwen.” Whichever you received was always joined by a big smile that would warm your heart.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 8:30 - 9:30 am in the New Jerusalem Evangelical Baptist Church, 871 No. Main St., Randolph. A Funeral Service will follow at 9:30 AM in the Church. Burial in the Braintree Cemetery.
