LEAVITT, Carol (Morris), of West Dennis and Englewood, FL, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 24th at the age of 86. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, she graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. She was the devoted wife for 67 years to Dr. William Leavitt.

Carol and Bill raised their family in Randolph before moving to West Dennis and wintering in Englewood FL. She loved being surrounded by family (and their dogs) and friends and was always ready for an adventure. She was an avid reader, enjoyed travel, playing cards, tennis, and golf. Her kitchen was always open to share a bite to eat and a cup of tea with anyone who stopped over. She spent many hours volunteering at local hospitals, Food Banks and the NOAH Shelter in Hyannis, MA.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend, Carol will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have been in her life. Loving mother to W. Steven Leavitt and partner Catherine Beale of Alexandria, VA, Judy Shannon and husband Jim of Wilbraham, MA, Dana Leavitt and wife Rosanne of North Attleboro, and Caroline DeCota and husband Lou of North Attleboro, MA. Adored and fun-loving Nana to Matthew (Julie) and Daniel (Rachel) Shannon, Rebecca and Sarah Leavitt, Michael (Kelly), William and Daria DeCota, and great grandmother to Abigail and Matthew Shannon, and Curran, Lake, and Bohdan DeCota. Carol was predeceased by her parents Lindorf and Mildred Morris, and her brother Roy Morris.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, January 5th, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St (Rt. 28), Randolph. Funeral services and burial will be private.
