LANE, John E. “Jack”, of Braintree, formerly of Brewster and Whitman, passed away after a brief illness, on December 9, 2021, at the age of 85. Born in Boston, Jack grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School, Class of 1955. He then went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in Labor Relations and studied Humanities at Stonehill College. Jack retired from Armstrong World Industries as their Director of Human Resources, after 33 years of dedicated service. After retiring, he began a 10 year career working for Scudder Investments and several years working for CapeAbilities in Hyannis. Jack was a longtime member of the Neighborhood Club in Quincy. A devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather and friend, Jack will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Jack was the beloved husband of Joan (Cannon) Tellier Lane. Loving father of John Lane of Raleigh, NC, Kathryn Brereton of Falmouth, David Lane of Franklin, Matthew Lane of Halifax, Karyn Thompson of E. Bridgewater and stepfather of Laura Savage and John Tellier both of Braintree. Devoted brother of William Lane of Duluth, GA, Mary Foley of Quincy and Judith Lane of Hingham. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Thursday, December 16th, from 9:30 – 11:00 AM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 Noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
