OGDEN, Donald P., of Boston, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully and comfortably at his home in Boston’s North End, on December 3, 2021, at the age of 84. Born in Boston, Don was raised in Randolph where he graduated from Randolph High School and then went on to attend Bentley College. Soon after high school, Don enlisted in the Massachusetts Guard and later the National Guard. Don then enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Don achieved the rank of “Captain” and was awarded several medals and commendations, including the Vietnam Service Medal with 7 Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Army Commendation Medal. In 1980, Don was a co-founder of Boston based A Yankee Line, Inc. (Yankee Bus Line), which has grown to become one of New England’s premier luxury passenger transportation companies, serving the entire Northeast corridor with luxury tours, charters and general passenger transportation. Don also enjoyed being an avid race horse owner and enthusiast. Don especially cherished his time connecting with family and friends in Randolph, Boston’s North End, South Boston, Saratoga, N.Y. and his motorcoach industry friends throughout North America and the U.K. A devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, Don will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Don was the son of the late Francis and Anna (Boodro) Ogden. Brother of the late Dorothy Burns, Patricia Gray and Margaret Fletcher. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Memorial Visiting hours on Friday, December 10th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT. 28), Randolph. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11th at 10:00 AM in St. Bernadette Church, 1031 No. Main St., Randolph. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Winsome Riding Academy, 384 High St, Randolph, MA 02368, www.winsomeriding.org. Yankee Bus schedule for all that may be interested – Friday departing 4:00 PM from 252 Commercial Street, North End and also 4:00 PM from 370 West First Street, South Boston.
