PRICE, Ernest R. “Ernie”, of Randolph, formerly of Weymouth, passed away September 3, 2021, at the age of 74, after a short illness. He was born and raised in Weymouth, graduating Weymouth High School Class of 1964. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served until he was medically discharged. Ernie started his career with Burroughs Corporation, eventually retiring from General Electric as a widely respected senior engineer. He was an active member on the board of the Village Cemetery in Weymouth for a number of years. Ernie loved to travel to Ireland, Scotland and his wife’s home country of England, to spend time with various relatives and friends. These trips were made even more meaningful when his children and very close friends John and Brenda Desmond were able to join. Some of his hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Ernie really enjoyed connecting with old and new friends on social media. Most recently, he and his wife were looking forward to moving to South Carolina to begin their retirement and be near their daughters and granddaughters. Ernie leaves behind in sadness his wife Priscilla (O’Brien) Price, daughter Amy Fowle of Fort Mill, SC, son Jason Price of Randolph, MA, daughter Holly Price of Fort Mill, SC and beloved granddaughters Ella Fowle and Allie Fowle. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers. Ernie was, at heart, a kind and caring man, and is leaving a substantial void in the lives of many. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 18, 2021, at Village Cemetery, 339 Washington Street, Weymouth. Should friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made in Ernie’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma, OK 73123. Arrangements under the direction of Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St. Randolph. To leave a sympathy message for the family, please visit
