KOSTINIERIS, Susan Mary (Young), of Braintree, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021, at the age of 78. Susan was born in Quincy, MA on April 7, 1943 to Mary Melissa Reid Young and Walter Willard Young Sr. She attended Montclair Elementary School and graduated from Quincy North High School, Class of 1960. Susan was a strong, loving, fun, bold and fiercely loyal woman to her family and friends. Her heart was her family. The oldest of five siblings, Susan resonated an undeniable matriarch quality about her. She had special relationships with her brothers Walter Young Jr. of Mashpee and David Young of the Philippines, formally of Quincy and her two loving sisters Maureen Briggette of Braintree and Laura McVey of Bridgeton, ME. Susan devoted herself to giving and supporting her family in any way she could. She lovingly raised her two daughters with her former husband, the late Martin George Kostinieris, and the love she had for her two daughters Kate Scola of Braintree and Kristina Ziniti of Weymouth, was overwhelming. She was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren - Anthony, Nicolette, Dominic, Victoria and Joey. She had special bonds with her loving cousins as well. There was always a lesson to be taught, often with humor and fun to be had in her eyes. Susan was intentional with showing her family how loved they were by her. We were so blessed to have such an amazing woman in our lives looking out for each and everyone of us unselfishly.

After staying home to raise her daughters during their elementary school years, Susan worked for Harbridge House, Inc., a management consulting firm for most of her career and later retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers. During her retirement years she worked part-time for the Weymouth School system's Weycare Program while helping raise her grandchildren.

When her two daughters were young Susan vacationed every summer in North Conway, New Hampshire with her family and friends. The memories made during those summers are irreplaceable. As her two daughters grew older and had children of their own, Susan committed most of her time to helping watch and raise her grandchildren after retirement.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St., Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susanís name to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 597 Randolph Ave., Milton, MA 02186. Arrangements under the care of the Cartwright Funeral Home, Braintree. To leave a sympathy message for the family, visit www.cartwrightfuneral.com.
