MOSLEY, Richard Smith “Rich”, of Halifax, formerly of Mashpee, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness on August 12, 2021, at the age of 79. Born in Norwood, Rich grew up in Abington and graduated from Abington High School, Class of 1961, where he starred on the Track Team. He later went on to attend Bentley College. Rich proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded several medals and commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Prior to his retirement, Rich spent over 35 years as an accounting technician for the Federal Government, most recently with the U.S. Coast Guard. In his free time, he was an avid runner and one of his proudest achievements was completing the Boston Marathon. Rich had a love a music and that transcended into a side job as a booking agent for two folk music venues that he had done for many years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Rich will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Richard was the beloved husband of Amelia “Amy” (Lauricella) Mosley. Loving father of Elaine Leibly and her husband Frank of Taftsville, VT and the late Alison D. Mosley. Son of the late Joe and Charlotte (Merry) Mosley. Brother of David Mosley of Abington and the late Diane Keith. Cherished “Grampa” to Allison Leibly and Carolyn Leibly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Memorial Visiting hours on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT. 28), Randolph. Burial will be private.
