Cartwright Funeral Homes

MACHON, William J. “Bill”, of Lakeville, formerly of Carver and Randolph, passed away after a long illness, on August 7, 2021, at the age of 66. Born in Boston, Bill was raised in Randolph and attended St. Mary’s School and then Xaverian High School. He continued his education at UMass Boston, where he met the love of his life, Deanna. Bill worked in food service for many years managing both McDonald’s and Friendly’s, but Bill was most proud of owning his own restaurant, Morgan’s located in Fairhaven. He loved to travel and take road trips. One of Bill’s favorite adventures was his cross-country road trip in 1976 during the bicentennial, with his friends Randy, Frannie, and Ed. He loved old cars, fishing, camping and the Blues. Bill enjoyed playing his records and shared his love of classic rock music with his daughters. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that could not be recreated. Bill was one-of-a-kind. He had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. He had an easy-going personality and accepted life’s challenges with grace and inner strength. Bill was extremely proud of his daughters and would take any opportunity to speak about them. He also loved and cherished his grandchildren. Bill was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Beloved husband for 40 years of Deanna (Morello) Machon. Loving father of Vanessa Podolski and her husband Daniel of Walpole and Francesca Sabellico and her husband Richard of North Adams. Dear son of the late Charles and Jessie (Lebrocquy) Machon. Devoted brother of Richard Machon and his wife Jo of WA, Jeannine Machon and her husband Frank Kolodziej of CO, and Stephen Machon and his partner Wim of the Netherlands. Son-in-law of the late Frank and Marisa Morello of Medford. Brother-in-law of Anthony Morello and his wife Sandy of Wilmington, Frank Morello and his wife Jeannie of NC and Vincent Morello of FL. Bill is also survived by his two cherished grandchildren, Samuel and Cecilia, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A private Memorial Service will be held to celebrate and honor Bill’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or American Diabetes Foundation.
