In addition to raising her three children, Ellie began her working career as a Braintree Crossing Guard. She loved and furthered her career in the Norfolk County Judicial System, Quincy Court as a court officer retiring in 1988 as Assistant Chief Court officer. She truly loved and cherished her friends at the Quincy courthouse.
Once retired, Ellie followed her passion and became an exceptional artist and instructor creating hundreds of magnificent Faberge eggs. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She would find her peace while “burying her toes in the sand” at beaches in Florida, Aruba and Jamaica while spending her summers at her beach house in Dennis Port. Her passion for animals was unending and boundless.
The best part of Ellie’s day was going out for lunch, spending hours talking and playing Keno.
Ellie had developed cherished friendships with the administration and staff, along with her special friend Carl, at Keystone Place in Buzzards Bay. She loved to play cards and bingo and was thrilled when appointed part of the “Dining Room Committee”.
Ellie is survived by her loving and enduring daughters Joanina “Nina” Fahey of Yulee, FL and Marie Rossi of Buzzards Bay, MA and predeceased by her cherished son Joseph “Joey” Rugnetta. She also leaves her sisters, Karen Cota of North Adams, MA, and Kevinette “Kerri” Considine of Plymouth, MA, six grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Ellie requested a private graveside service. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her during her last illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal charitable organization.
