FINKELSTEIN, Mindy Loved Life and Lived It to the Fullest. Mindy Finkelstein, age 62, is Somewhere Over the Rainbow after passing away peacefully in her home on June 22, 2021. She'd been recently diagnosed with an extremely rare brain disease, Behavior Variant FrontoTemporal Dementia (BvFTD) complicated by ALS (BvFTD-ALS). Mindy is survived by her sister, Joy Farrow, sister-in-law Laura Frombach and boyfriend, Charles Ingersoll. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Joan Farrow, Brenda and Jimmy Farquhar, Rona and Gerry Nikolovienis, Bernard and Arlene Farrow, as well as numerous cousins and many friends. One of her favorite adventures was dressing up like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and running 5k charity races throughout the Boston area - in costume. She made her own outfits and people loved to watch "Dorothy" cross the finish line. Mindy loved her sports, especially the Red Sox and Bruins. Her most cherished run was the Red Sox "Run to Home Base," where she once even threw the first pitch in Fenway Park. She also loved reminiscing about her Zamboni ride around the rink at a Bruins game. Memorial Services will be announced at a future date. Mindy requested the donation of her brain to the MGH FTD unit.
