CONNOLLY, Richard S. of Scituate, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2021, at the age of 67. Born in Boston, Richard has been with Road to Responsibility for over three decades being one of the original clients. The past few years for Richard have been dedicated to relaxing at home, listening to Beatles music and enjoying books about The Beatles and the US Presidents. He enjoyed his time spent with the residents and dedicated staff participating in backyard barbecues and attending social events with the ladies next door. He loved holidays with his family and outings including burgers and chocolate hot fudge sundaes and of course all activities involving The Beatles. Richard looked forward to Sunday jams with Jim and Ricky Pyne. Ricky would play his guitar while Richard would rock out on the drums. Richard will be remembered as the No. 1 fan of The Beatles with his favorite song, “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Richard and Ringo Starr, (whose name is also Richard), shared a birthday, but his favorite Beatle was Paul McCartney. Richard was a kind, gentle and cheerful man who will be remembered fondly and greatly missed. He was the dear son of the late Selden “Bud” and Ann Connolly, devoted brother of Joan McCarty of Dedham and Robert Connolly and his wife Susan of Braintree. Richard is also survived by his uncle Walter "Ned" Arnold, Jr., nieces Catherine Quarantello, Joanna Nagelhout, Julie Connolly and nephew John Connolly, extended family and friends. Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Road to Responsibility, 1831 Ocean St., Marshfield, MA 02050. Arrangements under the direction of Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree.
