ROMANO, Flavia A. (Venuto), lifelong resident of Braintree, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family on April 1, 2021, at the age of 90. Born and raised in Braintree, Flavia attended Braintree schools. She spent her working career in a variety of jobs including work as a cafeteria worker in the Braintree schools, a crossing guard for the Town of Braintree and then retired after working many years at J.L. Hammett’s in Braintree. In her free time Flavia enjoyed Bingo, the occasional trip to Foxwoods and “coaching” the Red Sox from her favorite chair as she watched the games on tv. However, what Flavia truly enjoyed most in life was being a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Flavia will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Flavia was the wife of the late Dominic Romano. Loving mother of Ann Antonelli of Braintree, Catherine Casey and her husband James of Braintree, Daniel Romano and his wife Anne of Hanover and the late Dominic Romano, Jr. Devoted sister of Alice Faletti and Joe Calabro of Hingham and the late Anthony, James and Mary Venuto. Beloved “Grammy” to Audra McDonough, Dominic Antonelli and his wife Amy, Frank Antonelli, Derek Duval, James Casey and his wife Meghan, Joseph Romano and Danielle Romano and “Mimi” to her great grandchildren Tristan McDonough, Dominic Antonelli, Jr and Leigha Rose Duval. Flavia was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 guidelines and limited capacity the wake will be private to family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements under the care of the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. To leave a sympathy message for the family, visit www.cartwrightfuneral.com.
