DeANGELO, Nicholas V. of Braintree, formerly of Boston and Everett, passed away on February 26, 2021, at the age of 79.
Beloved son of the late Nicholas and Rosina (Lerio) DeAngelo. He was a longtime friend of 30 years to Maureen Zanelli of Braintree. Devoted brother of Paul DeAngelo, Sr. of Norton, Marie Bonnett of Belmont, NH, Anne Bardes of Mason, NH and the late Michael DeAngelo. Dear uncle of Paul DeAngelo, Jr. of Foxboro, Anthony DeAngelo and Nicholas DeAngelo of Woburn. Nick is survived by his Uncle and Aunt, Carmelo and Doris Lerio of Roslindale, several cousins and dear friends.
Nick was born in Boston and grew up in Everett until he entered the United States Army in 1962. After coming home from serving his country in 1968, he moved to California for a short period of time. While in California, he joined the California National Guard and worked on the Alaskan Pipeline as a welder.
Nick moved back to Massachusetts and was employed at the VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury and Brockton in Prosthetics until his retirement in 2003.
He was an avid sportsman, especially in archery, hunting, rifle shooting and fishing. He was a member of the Marshfield and Weymouth Gun Clubs. Nick won many competitions, medals and citations over the years with the love and passion for these sports.

In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, which include face coverings, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity, those attending will be asked to pay their respects and depart to allow the next guests to enter the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 19th from 8:30 10:00 AM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. A private burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Brockton VA Hospice Palliative Care Unit, 940 Belmont St., Unit 72C, Brockton, MA 02301 or to the charity of your choice.
