LUACAW, Mazie A. was born August 25, 1926 in Hampton, VA to Henry Jones and Louise Brigges. She was one of six children. She graduated from the High School of Practical Arts in Boston. She married the late Clinton A. Luacaw on April 28, 1947 and had five daughters.
Mazie worked 26 years as a Nurses' Assistant. She had a dry sense of humor and unflappable attitude. She was respected and well liked by her peers. She retired from Brigham's and Women's Hospital in 1991.
Mazie loved music. She enjoyed reading everything from the classics to romance novels. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She could be found many nights patiently helping her great grandchildren with homework. Family meant everything to her. She pulled no punches when telling you her opinion but was always there for you no matter what.
Maize was the loving mother of Beverly Luacaw and her husband Walter Myers of Maynard, MA., Eileen White and her husband Marco White of Hyde Park, MA., Cheryl Luacaw of Randolph, MA. and the late Selina Wright and Pamela Luacaw. She was the loving sister of Elizabeth Edwards of Somerville, MA and the late Pearl Walker, Estelle Jones, Louis and Joseph Brigges. She was the beloved "Nana" of 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren and the aunt to a host of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.

In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, which include face coverings, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation period on Friday, February 19th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St (Rt. 28), Randolph, followed by a Private Funeral Service in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery,355 Walk Hill reet, Mattapan, MA 02126
