WHITTALL, Carol (Maxham), of Braintree, formerly of VT, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 87. Born in Nashua, NH, Carol was raised in Pomfret, VT. Carol graduated Northfield Mount Hermon Boarding School, Class of 1951. She went on to further her education at the Deaconess Nursing School, Class of 1954. Carol then went on to become a private nurse for years. Later she worked at Norfolk County Hospital, BCBS, as well as Braintree Town Clerk’s office and other places. Carol was an avid reader and she enjoyed traveling to all types of destinations. She was a woman of strong faith. Carol was very active in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, where she devoted her time in many different ways. Carol was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Braintree Senior Center. Family was everything to Carol. She loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren and the memories they made. Carol was a kind, caring and loving woman who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Beloved wife of the late Charles S. Whittall. Loving mother of Charles S. Whittall, Jr. and his wife Janet, Jane R. McKenney and her husband David and Margaret F. Whittall. Dear daughter of the late C. T. and Rosina M. (Blood) Maxham. Devoted sister of the late Phyllis Bibber and David L. Maxham. Sister-in-law of Paul H. Whittall. Carol is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffery, Charles III, Sarah and Andrew, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services for Carol will be private. Burial in Braintree Cemetery, Plain St., Braintree.
