Jack’s love of life was matched only by his 59 year love affair with his devoted wife Sandy. Jack and Sandy spent their winters in Naples and summers at Peters Pond in Sandwich, building everlasting friendships. He loved the beach, golfing, cruising the Caribbean, Boston Sports and entertaining family and friends with his wonderful sense of humor.
Jack graduated from Randolph High School in 1954, served honorably in The United States Navy, attended Bay State School of Electronics and retired after 40 years from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The beloved husband of Sandy, much loved Dad to Debbie and Jerry DeGregorio of Braintree, Dee and her late husband David Allen of Weymouth, Ann and Tom York of Braintree, and Susan and Rob Dorney of Foxboro. Cherished “Grampa” of Jack, Daniel, Nicolette, Ashlee, Samantha, Allie, Marissa and Shea. Dear Uncle Jack to many nieces and nephews.
Jack will join parents Rose and Leo Gaynor in heaven and be reunited with his brothers and sisters Veronica Diauto, Francis Gaynor, Maryrose Smith, Robert Gaynor and Patricia Gove.
A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 8th, at 12:00 noon at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree. Immediately following the Mass all are welcome at St. Mary Cemetery in Randolph for the burial. Jack was a long-time communicant of St. Bernadette Church in Randolph but because of COVID-19 restrictions, the Mass will be held at St. Francis. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451. Arrangements under the direction of Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree.
