MAROTTA, Arthur T., of Brockton, formerly of Braintree, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on December 28, 2020. Born and raised in Dorchester, Arthur graduated from Dorchester High School. For many years, Arthur was the owner of Salon D’Italia, a well-known beauty salon on Newbury Street in Boston. After retiring from the salon, he began a second career as a furniture salesman at Bob’s Discount Furniture in Stoughton where he worked for many years and was one of their top salesman. In his free time, Arthur enjoyed home remodeling and shopping, however, spending time with his family and grandchildren is what brought him the most joy. A devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and friend, Arthur will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Arthur was the husband of the late Mary Ann E. (Greland) Marotta. Loving father of Arthur J. Marotta and his wife Erica of Plymouth, Jospeh A. Marotta and his wife Amanda of Abington, Jamie M. Marrongelli and her husband Louis of Brockton and the late Gina M. Marotta. Son of the late Arthur and Mary (Pisano) Marotta. Devoted brother of Paul Marotta of Sudbury. Dear “Papa” to A.J., Louis, Nicholas and Adriana. In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, which include face coverings, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Saturday, January 2nd, from 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A private Funeral Mass will be held in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
