FOURNIER, John A., of Holbrook, MA and The Villages, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. His devoted wife Helen and son Jay were with him, as well as his constant companion, Coco. He was 84 years old. Born in Norwich, CT, John was the son of Rose and Pete Fournier. He spent his childhood in Holyoke, MA. John was an Army veteran as well as a retired postal employee, working in Needham and later in Braintree.

He leaves his wife Helen, of 47 years, son Jay and daughter-in-law Linda, son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Victoria, late son Christopher, sister June Landa, sister Joyce Fife, sister Julie Katra and brother-in-law Allen, and grandsons Josh and Dallon.

John loved the months he spent in Florida playing golf everyday and competing in local running races. He was an avid runner completing several marathons including Newport, Boston, and 7 Marine Corps Marathons in Washington, DC. He was a member of the Colonial Road Runners and enjoyed summer fun runs in Abington and Brockton’s D.W. Field Park. John and Helen volunteered at the Boston Marathon for many years, handing out water to runners.

John loved life and always enjoyed being with family and friends. He will forever be loved and greatly missed!

A private Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 16th, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 153 S. Franklin St., Holbrook. Burial will be private. To leave a sympathy message for the family, please visit www.cartwrightfuneral.com
