John was proud of his Dorchester roots (O.F.D) and he has remained close to many of his childhood friends. He graduated from Saint Gregory Grammar School, Cathedral High School and Boston College, Class of 1959. John was a U.S. Air Force Airman. He worked in the insurance industry for many years at Kemper Insurance, Norfolk & Dedham Mutual Insurance Company and Hingham Mutual Insurance Company where he was Assistant Vice President of Marketing. He was a well-known and respected member of the insurance industry and involved in many professional insurance organizations. Beyond his dedication to his family, John was instrumental in helping to organize the South Braintree Girls Softball League and was a legendary coach for the Suburban Disposal Team. He was active in both Braintree Boy Scouts Troop 138 and the Foster School Cub Scouts Pack 14. John was a faithful parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish of Braintree. He was an active member of the Braintree Community, volunteering his time as a Town Meeting Member for thirty plus years, the Economic Development Committee, and a Commissioner for Weymouth-Braintree Regional Recreation Conservation District Commission (Pond Meadow Park) In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, which includes face coverings and social distancing, there will be a private Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, So Braintree Sq.
