AVERY, Peter J. of Randolph, passed away on October 14, 2020 at the age of 65. Peter was born in Ayer, to the late Walter and Mary (Kane) Avery. He was an avid football fan from a young age. Peter enjoyed playing football while he attended Cardinal Spellman High School before furthering his education at Northeastern University, where he continued the love of the game. He was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. Peter was a member of the Randolph Elks Lodge 2130. He enjoyed nights out at the Lodge Bar and Grill in Randolph. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. Peter is now reunited and together with his son Michael Patrick Avery, a Navy Veteran, who tragically passed away at the age of 22. Peter was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Beloved husband of Irene Comis. Loving father of Peter Avery, Jr. of Raynham, Jenna Rodriguez of Brockton and the late Michael Avery. Step-father of Amy Comis of Abington, David Comis and his wife Katie of Abington and Jimmy Comis and his wife Jenna of Whitman. Devoted brother of Joel Avery of Danvers, Mark Avery of TX and Liz Avery of Weymouth. Devoted grandfather of Mia, Trey, Mallory, Emily and Sophia Grace. Peter is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with the Covid-19 guidelines, which include face coverings, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 21st from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 North Main Street (Rt. 28). A private Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 22nd in the Funeral Home. All are invited to attend the celebration of life on Thursday, following the service, at 12:30 PM at the Lodge Bar and Grill, 1064 North Main Street, Randolph. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Peter’s name to the New England Home and Center for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
