James was known for his quick wit and infectious smile. With computers as one of his passions, James spent much of his professional career in the technology field. He enjoyed oil painting and playing chess. A longtime resident of Boston, James was an avid follower of all Boston sports.
He is mourned by his loving children and their spouses: Orlando and Carla Williams of Randolph, MA; Tina Johnson of Tucson, AZ; Tanya Williams of Fall River, MA; Toni and William Botting Sr. of Randolph, MA; Talisa and Mark Rafferty of Topsfield, MA; Tamica Sears of Tempe, AZ, James Parris of Plattsburgh, NY. He is preceded in death by his son Aaron Williams and daughter Tracie Cerene.
He is missed by his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren: TaTiana Cerene, Darius Johnson, Tamara Mertes, Corron Johnson, Michael Byrd, Kim Hunt, Natasha Williams, Troix Morris, Aiden Mertes, Mackenzie Rafferty, and Max Rafferty This loss will be felt by many who will miss him greatly, including his step-grandchildren and friends: Kathleen Brannigan, William Botting Jr., Robert Botting, James Botting, Nicole Botting and their children.
Due to the current circumstances, a private burial service will be held on May 18, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Inclusion Project or the American Heart Association.
