Obituaries

TRAWICK, Victor L., age 74, peacefully began his eternal journey on February 16, 2020. Victor was born in Boston and lived most of his life on the South Shore in Weymouth and Braintree. He also spent several cherished years in the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida. He was a big fan of the warm climate, often returning there for visits.
Victor was an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. He dabbled in many job ventures and was enthusiastic about each one. Despite not having educational privileges, Victor was a brilliant, self-taught man with in-depth learning of many subjects. Books were his passion. He always initiated thought-provoking conversations and gifted his companions with interesting tidbits of knowledge. He was exceptionally well-versed in holistic medicine and the belief that the body could self-heal. Whatever the ailment, Victor had a natural cure.
Victor's favorite place to be was near the ocean, and he was particularly happy while on a boat or fishing. He loved the sunshine and believed a daily dose of Vitamin D was essential for all. If you invited Victor to your home, he would always seek out the sunniest spot to sit.
A kind-hearted and spiritual soul, Victor, is described by his friends as a loyal and generous person. If Victor was your friend, he was your friend for life.
With the birth of his first grandchild, Victor took on his most cherished role in life as "Papa." He enjoyed every moment with his five grandchildren. Some of their fondest memories are of Papa teaching them how to fish and play cribbage, and he was always willing to have a snuggle and movie time. They always felt adored by him and his love will be with them forever.
Victor leaves his former wife and best friend, Pauline O'Toole, beloved son Geoffrey Trawick, his wife Heather and their children Maxwell, Ava, Mia, and Ella, granddaughter Brooke Trawick and her mother Christine Zec. He is predeceased by son Matthew and daughter Julie. Also survived by sisters Joyce Vraibel, Brenda Trawick Keefe, Bonnie Trawick-MacLean and the late Beverly Trawick.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, February 20, from 4:00 7:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, at 10:00 AM in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty Street Braintree. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Victor's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
