BAIUNGO, Angelo, of Braintree, passed away peacefully at his home, after a long illness, on February 3, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 72. Born in Boston’s North End to the late Joseph and Angelina Baiungo, Angelo grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. He then went on to earn his Associates Degree from Newbury College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Angelo retired after 25 years from the U.S. Postal Service. Angelo lived in Bonita Springs, Florida six months of the year where he is fondly remembered as the “Sports Expert”. He would hold court daily, talking about sports poolside. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Angelo will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Angelo was the beloved husband of 50 years to Janet Baiungo. Loving father of Luke Baiungo and his wife Jennifer of No. Attleboro, Leigh-Ann Porcaro and her husband Jim of Easton, CT. and Amanda LaCara and her husband John of Norwell. He was the cherished grandfather of Bianca Porcaro, Anthony Baiungo, Allison Baiungo, Angelina Porcaro, Aimee Baiungo, Vincent Porcaro, Lucas LaCara, Michael LaCara and Angelo Joseph LaCara. Devoted brother of Joseph Baiungo and his wife Linda, Louis Baiungo and his wife Joanne and Albert Baiungo and his wife Joan. Also survived by his sister-in-law Agnes Lynch and her husband Mark and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, February 5th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6th at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
