O'CONNOR, Kevin M. “Kev”, of Taunton, passed away unexpectedly, after a long battle with addiction, on January 30, 2020, at the age of 30. Born in Quincy, Kevin grew up in Taunton and graduated from Taunton High School. He then went on to attend Bristol Community College. A talented and gifted artist, he turned his passion into a career, working as a tattoo artist for the past several years and was recently recognized in the newspaper for his work. Kevin was a kind and gentle soul who had a soft spot for animals, especially his cats, and spoiling his nieces. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and skateboarding and his love of music inspired him to take up the drums and he played in several bands, including “Barbarian”, “The Thrill Of It” and “Roman Numeral III” A loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Kevin will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Kevin was the cherished son of Alfred O’Connor and his wife Judith of Vero Beach, FL and Caroline (Gustafson) O’Connor of Rockland. Devoted brother of Sean O’Connor of Taunton, Caitlin O’Connor of New Bedford, Matthew Gonynor and his wife Alexandra of San Diego, CA and Gregory Gonynor of Kingston. Dear uncle to Aiylah and Madison O’Connor. Loving companion of Terri Whalen of RI Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 6th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright – Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7th, at 11:30 AM in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree. Burial will be private.
