BOTTING, David P., of Canton, formerly of Holbrook, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on January 23, 2020, at the age of 53. Born in Boston, David grew up in Holbrook and went to Holbrook High School. He worked as a waiter for several restaurants in and around the South Shore and was considered the “Best” waiter by his family and friends. David was an avid sports fan who enjoyed horse racing and especially loved cheering on all his New England sports teams. He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and his practical jokes. A devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, David will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. David was the son of the late Richard and Barbara (Drinkwater) Botting. Devoted brother of Deborah Gulya and her husband Jeffery of Whitman, Richard Botting and his wife Dawn of Manchester, NH, Doreen O’Connor of Quincy, Gail LeClerc of Canton, Janet Burgess and her husband Joseph of Easton and William Botting and his wife Toni of Randolph and the late Dianna Miles. Dear uncle of Stacey, Michael, Rachael, Jonathan, Richard, Jr., Kelly, Ashley, Jacqueline, Lynne, Olivia, Kimberly, William, Jr., Robert, James and Nicole. Also survived by 16 great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Monday, February 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (RT. 37), Holbrook, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
