SHERMAN, John H. “Jack”, of Randolph, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2020, at the age of 74. Born in Providence, RI, Jack grew up in Weymouth and has lived in Randolph for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, where he received several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. Jack worked as a auto mechanic for a local garage for many years prior to his retirement. Jack was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years and was a proud Eagle Scout of 55 years. In his free time he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was a member of the South Shore Chapter of the Hogs Motorcycle Club. Jack was also a volunteer for many years with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Braintree. A devoted husband, father, son, uncle, cousin and friend, Jack will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 8th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 9th at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society of Greater Braintree, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
