GRIMES, Myles Jr. was born July 24, 1953 and died peacefully at home on May 19, 2019. He was the son of Myles Grimes Sr. and Bessie Freeman Grimes. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Myles attended Dorchester High School and went on to enroll in the LPN program at Bunker Hill Community College. Myles’ clinical career spanned over 40 years having worked at Spaulding Rehabilitation, Boston Medical Center and Brookline Health Care - to name a few. Myles was known as a kind and nurturing caregiver to all of his patients.

Myles had a love and respect for God and the Bible. From an early age he sang in the children's choir at New Hope Baptist Church. In later years he embraced the Filipino community and culture. He was an active member of the Philippine International Church and often organized various church events such as the Mother's Day Dinner.

Affectionately known by many family and friends as "Junior", Myles was sweet, kind, gentle and caring - always willing to help someone in need.

Myles loved his family very much and they loved him. His son, Babu, referred to him as his "hero and best friend." He was a people person and generous with his compliments. He never said a bad word about anyone; always looking for the good in people.

Myles (Jr.) like his father Myles Sr. was a sharp dresser. One of his first jobs was with Callahan's Men Store in Roxbury where he was one of the top Sales persons. When he walked into a room people noticed. He had lots of charm and charisma and people were drawn to him. Myles Grimes had "swagger." He loved to travel, loved to cook and always knew the best places to eat. Myles was like the local "phantom gourmet" for family and friends.

Myles was dependable and reliable, but always late.

Myles was preceded in death by his parents, Myles Sr. and Bessie Grimes, and sister Beatrice Foster and childhood best friend Bobby Lewis.

Memories of Myles will be cherished by his loving wife Aileen Grimes, sons; Myles "Jay" Borden (Stacey), Neil Loquez, Myles " Babu" Grimes; daughter; Nikki Loquez, sisters; Mary Grimes Finley, Deborah Scott, sisters-in-laws Joy Marasigan, Grace Hill (Brian) nieces; Watura, Stacey (Desi), Brittany, Sara, Karima nephews; Michael, Bobby and Aaron, Lem, Jake, PJ, and John. Grandchildren; Talisha, Jamal, Jerome, Nascier, Kahlil, Isaiah, Isabelle and many Great-grandchildren along with a host of other family members.

Myles is also survived by his first wife and long time loyal friend Lillian Grandy Grimes, his former brother-in-law and friend Ali Bilal, his close friend Thaddeus Sandridge and his life-long best friend and "cousin" Bruce Pittman.

Myles "Jr." Grimes will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Saturday, May25th from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT 28), Randolph. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:30 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
