DeSISTO, Florence (Rinaldi) of Braintree, formerly of Randolph, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on January 5, 2019, at the age of 90. Born and raised in Braintree, she was the youngest of eight children of Italian heritage. Growing up in the depression in Braintree, Florence learned the value of everyday things. She graduated from Stetson High School in Randolph. After marrying the love of her life Al, they started their family in the North End of Boston. They later moved to Randolph were they lived for over 50 years. Florence returned to Braintree 3 years ago. She was a strong, hardworking, caring, consistent and loving woman. Florence was skilled in gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family, being able to pass along her skill to her 8 children, and 49 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Florence wore many hats in life, including being a great daughter, mother, wife, friend, sister cousin, aunt, caregiver and animal lover. She was an all-around amazing person, always putting others’ needs before her own. Florence will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Beloved wife of the late Alvin P. DeSisto, Sr. Loving mother of Robert A. DeSisto and his wife Kathleen of Tx, Cathy Dufel and her husband Ron of CA, Mary A. Vickio and her husband Louis of TX, Alvin P. DeSisto, Jr. and his wife Angela of Attleboro, Margaret R. DeSisto and her husband Red Wylie of NH, and the late Susan Patterson and David A. DeSisto. Devoted grandmother of 49 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 8th, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on, Wednesday, January 9th, at 10:30 AM in St. Francis Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370 or Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
