O'Brien, Debbie (Love) O’Brien, 66, of Randolph, died December 5, 2018, after a long illness. She is survived by a husband, Dan, a sister Susan Utemeyer of Hampton Cove, Alabama, and sister-in-law Mary Anne O’Brien of Randolph. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Rita (Healy) Love of Dubuque, Iowa, and several dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Debbie was born in and grew up in Dubuque, a city on the Mississippi River, and graduated from Loras College, where she worked as an Admissions Counselor after graduating. Her job was recruiting high school students to attend Loras, and she tremendously enjoyed helping young people decide on an academic and career path. She traveled extensively in her job, and met her husband Dan at a swing dance on a recruiting trip to Boston. Debbie subsequently moved to Boston and got a job in the Graduate Admissions Department at Bentley University, where she continued to travel extensively, often bringing her husband Dan along, both in the U.S. and abroad.

Debbie and Dan moved to Randolph, and settled-in with neighbors and the unique qualities of the town; however, she never lost touch with her midwestern roots. She made several trips back to Dubuque, staying very close with her alma mater Loras College. Debbie loved being with her family, singing, ballroom dancing, Christmastime, being on or around the Mississippi River, and classic entertainment including Broadway musicals, the “big bands”, and rock n’roll, among other pursuits. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St., Randolph MA 02368 followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church, Randolph MA followed by a committal service in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
