MARTORANA, Salvatore A. “Sal”, of Braintree, formerly of South Boston and Dorchester, passed away on December 5, 2018, at the age of 92. Born in Boston, Sal proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from North Eastern University with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering. Sal worked as a civil engineer for the MWRA. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and was an avid Boston sports fan. He especially loved the Boston Red Sox. Sal was a member of the Dante Club in South Boston. He enjoyed taking trips to the casinos and his “scratch tickets”. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Beloved husband for 66 years of Theresa (DeCandia) Martorana. Loving father of Teresa Morales and her husband Paul of Stougton. Cherished grandfather of Thomas Morales and Derek Morales of Stoughton. Dear son of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Valenzola) Martorana. Devoted brother of Frank “Sonny” Martorana of Quincy and the late Joseph Martorana and Josephine Russell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 10th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street Braintree. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 11th at St. Francis of Assisi Church, So Braintree Square. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
