VAN COTT, Barbara J. “Chick” (Fletcher) , life long resident of Randolph, passed away on November 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and pets, at the age of 87. Born and raised in Randolph, Chick graduated from Stetson High School. She was very involved in her community and an active life long member of the First Congregational Church. She was involved in all aspects of church life including singing in the choir for over 40 years, LBA women’s group, quilting group and diligent worker at all fairs and social events. She loved music and played the cornet in school and in the Randolph Community Band and also sang in a choral group. She was very social and enjoyed her weekly bowling group wth her friends, “The Chatty Chewers” for many years. She was a lover of animals and nature and enjoyed camping. Above all, spending time with her family and grandchildren is what brought her the most joy. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Chick will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Chick was the wife of the late Alvan R. Van Cott. Loving mother of Pamela Van Cott of Randolph, Linda L. Reichenbach and her husband Curt of E. Bridgewater, and Mark F. Van Cott of Randolph. Dear “Gram” to Amy, Scott, and Jennie. Sister of the late Cynthia Reese and Priscilla Taddeo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend memorial visiting hours on Tuesday, November 20th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT 28), Randolph. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday November 21st at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church, 1 South Main St., Randolph, MA 02368. Burial will be private. All are invited to celebrate Chick’s life by wearing pink. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in memory of Chick.
