PEREIRA, Amancio E., of Nashua, NH, formerly of Brockton, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018, at the age of 81. Born January 15, 1937 in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, where he attended school until he immigrated to the United States in September of 1953 at the age of 16. He lived with his sister Angelina and her family for several years and worked in the Bridgewater Foundry. He then worked at West End Hub and Spring for over 30 years until his retirement. On July 10, 1960 he married the love of his life, the late Barbara J. (Kent) and they settled in Brockton where they raised their family. In November of 1960, he became a proud citizen of the United States. He had a passion for sports cars, especially Mustang’s and was an avid dancer. Amancio was a member of the Winthrop Copngregational Church in Holbrook and the Holbrook Sportsman Club. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. In addition to his late wife, Barbara J. (Kent), Amancio was the loving father of Dorothea Clare and her husband Patrick of Nashua, NH, Linda Pereira and her partner Michael Stolfi of Maynard and Paul Pereira and his wife Tracie of Navarre, FL. Dear “Vovu” to Jason and Daniel Clare, Grace Pereira Hooks and Erin Pereira. Brother of the late Angelina Pimental, Jose, Julio, Mariano and Manuel Pereira. Son of the late Julio and Maria (Ventura) Pereira. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Wednesday, October 31st from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (RT 37), Holbrook. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 Noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
