WHITE, William “Bill” W. of Holbrook, passed away on October 12, 2018. Bill was born and raised in Quincy and spent the last 63 years in Holbrook where he raised his family. He served in the Army Air Force during WW II in the Pacific as a rescue plane radar operator. Bill graduated Tufts University, Class of 1950. He later worked as an engineer at Pneumatic Scale for forty years. Bill founded the K-Bar Squares in the 70’s and was a well-known square dance caller and teacher for many years. He was a very active Freemason for over 50 years and was a past master of Rural Lodge (Wollaston) and worker for the Scottish Rite Lodge of Perfection. Bill was an avid Boston sports fan and especially loved the Red Sox and Patriots. He was 92. Loving husband of the late Carol (Ring) White for 63 years. Loving father of Carolyn “Lyn” White of Holbrook, Charles “Chuck” White and his wife Patricia of Bridgewater, David White of Holbrook and the late Judith White. Dear son of the late Laura Earl. Devoted brother of the late Martha White. Loved by his grandchildren Amy, Diana, Sarah, Jessica and Scott. Also survived by many great grandchildren whom he enjoyed spending time with. Bill will be greatly missed as he was a man who touched the lives of countless people with his wonderful sense of humor, genuine interest in others and selfless acts. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 68 So. Franklin St. Holbrook (RT 37). A funeral service will be held on Saturday a 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Masonic service at 6:00 PM. Burial in Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
