MERLO, Eleanor “Ellie” “Mama Merl” (DelTufo) of Holbrook for over 50 years, formerly of Roxbury, passed away after a long illness on September 9, 2018. Ellie worked for many years as the Manager Holbrook Citgo / Quick Mart. She was a volunteer with the Town of Holbrook Surplus food Bank. She was a member of the Holbrook Grove Assoc., and an avid Bingo player in Weymouth and took many trips to Foxwood. Ellie loved to cook and to feed people. Beloved wife of the late Leo “John” Merlo. Loving mother of Beverly Andrea of Holbrook, Jack Merlo and his wife Diane of Bedford, Jim Merlo and his loving companion Paula Davis of Westford, Bob Merlo of Holbrook and the late Joseph Merlo. Devoted sister of Josephine Arena of Weymouth, Frank Del Tufo of Dorchester, Lucille Boyd of Lakeville, Paula Kernan of Hanover, and Marie Foley of Plymouth. Grandmother of Ricky, Nick and Steven Andrea, Kristen, Jon, Haley, Lori, Dylan, Cole, Joey, Jimmy, and Bobby Jr Merlo. Great grandmother of Paxton and Hadley. Mother in law of Laurie Merlo of Holbrook. Mother to her furry Angel Bucky Barnes. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 68 So. Franklin St. Holbrook until 9:30 AM on Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in her name to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502.
