DOOLEY, S. Patricia (Quinn) “Patty” of Hingham, formerly of Bridgewater, Raynham, and Falmouth, passed away August 30, 2018 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Philip R. Dooley, loving mother of Joyce Dooley of Cocoa, FL, Gwen Atkins of Bridgewater, Gail Dooley of Falmouth, James Dooley and his wife Cathy of Portland, TX, Kathy Dooley Butters of Canton, John Dooley and his wife Mary of Raynham, Robert Dooley and his wife Anne of Shrewsbury, Sally Bowen and her husband Stephen of Braintree, and Philip Dooley and his wife Tricia of St. Petersburg, FL. Devoted sister of Jackie Matula and her husband Stanley of Salem and the late Ann Sweeney and her late husband Daniel. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. “Patty” grew up in Salem and Beverly where she graduated from Salem High School. While she was raising her 9 children, she also graduated from Bridgewater State College and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from Suffolk University. She taught in the Bridgewater School system for 15 years. She enjoyed singing, playing card games, dancing and was an avid beach enthusiast. She was a lead performer with the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus and an accomplished watercolor artist with featuring beaches, lighthouses, gardens, and floral imagery. Patty was a talented poet with a natural ease for words, prose, and inspiring messages. She was especially proud to be a Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor creating lasting memories for all of her students. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with family and friends especially summers in Falmouth. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree MA 02184 until 9:30 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2018, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hour Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne MA. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. 313 Washington Street #310, Newton, MA. 02458.
