TIERNEY, John L., Jr., of Holbrook, passed away unexpectedly, on May 26, 2018, at the age of 78. Born and raised in Boston, John was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. He had proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard reserves. For 42 years he had worked for Stop and Shop as a grocery receiver. In his free time, John was a train enthusiast, he loved wooden boats and his favorite pizza from the Lynwood café. However, spending time with his children and grandchildren is what brought him the most joy. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, John will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. John was the beloved husband of 44 years to the late Constance M. “Connie” (Fenn) Tierney. Loving father of Karen Sierra of Boston, John Tierney of Attleboro, Kimberly Tierney of Las Vegas, NV and Tracey Arcieri of Randolph. Brother of Robert Tierney. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his beloved cat “Sheba”. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Friday, June 1st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (RT 37), Holbrook, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Holbrook Animal Shelter, 1 Maple Ave., Holbrook, MA 02343.
