DEVER, Roberta Eleanor (Shapleigh) of Randolph passed away at home May 11, 2018 at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Francis X. Dever. Loving mother of Sarah E. Dever of Holbrook, Katherine “Katie”(Dever) Delaney and her husband Michael of Stoughton; brother William M. Shapleigh of Saginaw, MI and the late James M. Shapleigh and his wife Ann Kennedy Shapleigh. Also survived by her nieces, Lynn S. Houweling, Susan S. Marlow, and Terri S. Bankemper; nephews William M. Shapleigh, Jr. and Todd J. Shapleigh; and many grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnephew. Daughter of the late William C. Shapleigh Jr. and Eleanor (Marshall) Shapleigh. Roberta was born and raised in Lockport, NY. She attended Lockport High School, Class of 64, Colby-Sawyer College, Class of 66 and Katherine Gibbs School Class of 1967. Roberta worked for Arthur D. Little R&D of Cambridge; Moseley, Hallgarten & Esterbrook Investment Bankers of Boston; and, most recently Hayward Photography of Milton. Roberta was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Randolph and served as both a Deacon and Trustee of the Church during the Rev. Doctor Arthur W. Bowler years. She loved daily family life; luncheons with friends; workday associates; her daughters swimming and softball events; travel with frequent visits to Western NY and her most recent visit with nineteen Clydesdale horses. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St. (RT. 28) Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday 4:00 – 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM in the First Congregational Church, Randolph. Burial in Central Cemetery, Randolph.
