MORAN, Clarence R. “Chief Gray Wolf”, of Braintree formerly of Dorchester and Mashpee passed away after a lengthy illness April 4, 2018 at the age of 95. Husband of the late Marie C. Oliveira Moran. Loving father of Lee Moran of CA, Cisco Oliveira of FL, Clarissa Oliveira of Braintree and the late Peter Moran. Dear step-father of Cathy Maria Leitao of Braintree and Carlos A. Oliveira of E. Bridgewater. He is also survived by his late wife’s son John Oliveira of E. Bridgewater, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, his longtime friend Charlie, and was a Foster Father to many Native American children in Canada, Maine, and Cape Cod. He was born in Boston and grew up and was educated in Mashpee. Lived in Dorchester for many years where he was a Real Estate Broker and also attended Suffolk University as a Law Student. “Chief Gray Wolf “was a member and a Chief of the Wampanoag Tribe, Mashpee. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM Wednesday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree MA. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Wampanoag Tribal Council, 483 Great Neck Road South, Mashpee, MA, 02649.
