DELLAPIANA, Josephine D. (DiBlasi) (Mirotta), of Braintree, passed away on March 21, 2018, at the age of 89. She is survived by sons Joseph C. Mirotta and wife Debbie of Harwich, John R. Mirotta and wife Michelle of Sandwich and James M. Mirotta and wife Carol of Pembroke, grandsons Joseph M. Mirotta, John J. Mirotta and great granddaughter Alessandra Mirotta. Siblings, John DiBlasi and his wife Gloria of Middleboro; Nelson DiBlasi and his wife Diane of Quincy; Salvatore DiBlasi and his wife Katherine of Stoughton; Lucille Dunn of Stoneham; Diane Snell and her husband Robert of Arlington. Predeceased by husband Joseph C. Mirotta. Also predeceased by 2nd husband Gene DellaPiana, her brother Charles DiBlasi, sisters Rose Fondanova, Nancy Armstrong and Mary Whitney. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Elvira (Popuolo) DiBlasi. She was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. She lived in Avon and Milton where she raised her family before moving to Marshfield and Braintree. She worked many years in the Assessor’s Office in both Milton and Marshfield. She enjoyed cooking Italian food, playing cards with her family and was an avid Red Sox fan. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 9:30 AM on Wednesday, March 28th, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday, March 27th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
